Since 2009, the Oran Jones Scholarship Roping has been held to remember and celebrate the life of a vibrant, young man who left us far too soon. Oran was a loving son, brother and friend who made an indelible mark on the lives of many, we honor him through a scholarship in his name that is offered to Dell City HS students and Region II HS rodeo athletes as they prepare to further or continue their education.
The event is supported entirely by sponsorships, donations and participation with all proceeds benefiting the Oran Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund.
